Awesome Solar Air Heater for Off Grid Living, Tiny Houses, RVs and more..

Learn more about this awesome solar air heater that is self-contained and self-powered, and captures free heat from the sun to heat any space from an off-grid cabin, cottage, basement, garage, tiny house, or just a regular every day house. It’s easy to use and only needs to be installed on a South-facing facade to function.

Designed & produced by the Quebec solar power company Eco Solaris ( this solar air heater is really affordable and can heat 30% of a 1000 square foot area, meaning it could reduce your heating bill by 30% for every 1000 square feet of living space (but it obviously only works during the day).

The photovoltaic solar panel produces electricity to power the fans inside the unit, while the heat panel absorbs heat from the sun which in turn heats up the air circulating through the panel before blowing it into whatever space you want it to heat. We think this is an incredibly efficient and easy to use heat source that uses clean renewable energy and using these solar panels will help reduce our dependence on hydro and fossil fuel heat sources. We hope to see them installed on more and more houses in the future!

    Being homeless right now, I see lots of homeless who are QUITE CONTENT to live in their vehicles. Many who live in motorized homes; I REFUSE TO CALL THEM "RV's/Campers" BECAUSE it offers far more FREEDOM than existing in some cramped, " apartmentalized" community!!! WAY TO GO. GO SOLAR.

    I like your videos and I subscribe to them.I want to know where in Canada can I bring my Dodge Caravan and have installed a pop up roof like the VW Wesphalia has.I was in Quebec City last summer and I saw a Chevy van with a pop up roof.i live in Toronto.

    I love this concept which is why I've been making my own but there's a big problem. Why the heck would you buy one for $1300 when you can make one for $0-$200? That's absurd. It sure looks a lot better than mine but that's it. I think it should be mandatory for every house to be at least partially heated with the sun in some form.

    Main problem is: here you have 13 degrees out, 23 degrees in (and bear in mind that this is the ad: real life conditions may vary…), so you can use it to heat up your place.

    But if you have say five degrees out, and you get say only 15 degrees in your panel, it will only heat up your place if your place is not already heated above 15 degrees…

    Maybe you can use it to pre-heat the air intake in your house from the ventilation, but otherwise in actually cold climate it is pretty much useless.

    Also that thing has a four-figures cost. For that price you can maybe just get a bigger window on your South-facing side; lights getting in your place is already converted into heat, whatever the inside temperature.

    Simon Doyon Yes, I am well aware, lol. But what on earth is 176F unless you are baking food inside an oven. Aside from the cooling features, don't these solar panels act as heaters to warm a house? I am confused. No one warms their house at 176F.

    In Europe there are several products similar to this (Grammer Solar, Solarventi, and some Chinese competitors), though they are marketed more as solar ventilation (with heat gain) since they draw in outside air, rather than reheating the inside air in a closed circuit, as this model does. I have a Solarventi and get both heating and constant fresh air for my mountain hut. For me the fresh air is the main reason for having one. It improves the air quality and eliminates humidity/stuffiness from lack of ventilation when I'm gone for a few weeks. However, in summer I have to turn the ventilation off, since the humid air from the outside is hotter than my stone walls, and condensation becomes an issue. Better to turn those with outside air intake off in summer.

    Perfect.  Would be great for my trailer.  Could run this during the day, and use generator for night.  I would air duct to under the floor because heat rises, so it would warm up the trailer pretty quickly.  I'm glad you have this in production now.  I  hope you don't rise your prices like so many do after a while.  You'll be making a lot of money if you keep it at the current price now.

    73.58 F inside panel(which is low)….55.4 F outdoor temp. When he turns the fan on to draw the air indoors it would evacuate the 73.58 F air from that small enclosure within seconds. The panel would not be able to heat up fast enough to maintain 73.58 constant output. It may take another 15 mins to regain the 73.58 for another tiny push of hot air.

    How do you prevent the solar air heater from creating over pressure in the building? Over pressure would push moist air into the building constructions where the water can condense.

    Once again someone takes a 10 year old diy project , turns it into a business and makes money off of someones open source ideas. I guess if you really don't want to take the half day and $60 to make one it's beneficial.

    You can heat 1000 square foot living area to 30%? At what outdoor and indoor temperatures? What latitudes? What time of the year and in what climate? What construction of the living space?

    Interesting, a direct copy of one designed years ago by another Canadian company; YourSolarHome in Aurora, Ontario. Also check out SolarVenti from across the pond. Easy to copy and make…but not everyone is a DIYer', and most of us can afford one, by doing so, we help out our small local businesses. p.s. in the northern parts of Canadian winters, you still have to subsidies heat with another heat source; wood stove, oil, gas, extra blankets…heat pumps and extra PVs won't cut it. Love your vLogs!!
