USA to GEORGIA (the country) – Sick of Airport Lounges?

Travel vlog 540 // Portland, Maine, USA // Country #77 // On today’s travel day vlog, our flight route was Portland – Philadelphia – Rome – Istanbul – and (finally!) Tbilisi, Georgia! It took 30 hours to get to our Airbnb: 4 flights, 2 airport lounges, & a lot of movies later, we finally made it 🙂 Nate’s FREE guide to airport lounge access:

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years 🙂 Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. 🙂

I never liked lounges .. they cut you off from all the goodies at the airports .. I usually walk around .. check out the shops .. eat something nice (usually lounge food is very monotonous and not enough variety) .. and maybe for an hour (depending on how much time is left) I will go in, have a drink or coffee and freshen up .. lounges are so over rated

I cannot believe that you guys have 30 MINUTES till your next flight and you decide to go to the Lounge.   No wonder you're always running to catch a flight.  Just sitting in the lounge knowing my flight leaves in 30 minutes would drive me insane.  I have to get to the gate a little early.   By the way, if your backpacks keep giving out on you, then you need to go with something more sturdy.  I know it's not as pretty or fashion approved, but I found "tactical" backpacks by companies like 5.11 Tactical and Blackhawk not only carry the load but last and last, because they are tested by Military people who beat the living crap out of their gear.

So that's Kara's secret to staying in-shape while travelling (or not). Bread and baked sweets are my downfall.

Love your videos! Detail you might not be aware of at 4:03 in this video, is that tower and the equipment inside with three antennas, is a Glide Slope (GS) (part of a runways Instrument Landing System (ILS)), and that particular configuration (3 sntennas) is a Capture Effect Glide Slope (CEGS). You will see them sometimes with two antennas or three antennas at different runways, and the number and height corresponds to the terrain configuration, and three is not better than two, in this case.

Just saying, you should come and hang out in Philadelphia for a little! Do a meet and greet or something! I would come❤️

I stumbled across your channel a couple days ago after watching one of your videos that had been in my recommended videos for the past few weeks. Now, I am hooked 🙂
(Also, I went to that donut shop when I visited Maine in July. It was so good! If you ever find yourselves back there, try the bacon cheddar donut. It sounds strange, but is so good!)

I love Rome and just Italy itself! Just the vibes I get from Italy always seems to be good! I went all through Italy last year and it was the best city and country I’ve been too so far!
