We spent the week in New York City leading up to the Shorty Awards, and it was extra special because both of our moms flew all the way from Nashville to spend the weekend with us! In this vlog we ate huge pastrami sandwiches at Katz Deli, went to Times Square, took the local ferry FREE to Staten Island to get a good view of the Statue of Liberty, ate Mexican food, visited Chinatown… basically all of the touristy things because that’s what we are 🙂

Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years 🙂 Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. 🙂

The Bikers on the Brooklyn Bridge are mad because walkers NEVER WALK IN THE WALKING LANE. They walk a ton in the bike lane and just get in the way. They deserve to be yelled at if they can’t take two seconds and read the labels.

Katz Pastrami Sandwich is an institution but $21.45!!! Chipolte is not Mexican food, they're based in Denver. In NYC, it's a sin to eat in a chain.

What cell phone plan do you have that allows calls and data in all of these places? I am having trouble finding a global plan. Thanks!

I got to say that that toothbrush looks awesome! I have a question if you don't mind. Are you still using the a6500? I have essentially the same set up, though I use the Sigma 16mm f 1.4. How do you mange to vlog so well with it? I really struggle with the exposure. Thanks!
