Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years 🙂 Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. 🙂

Hey y’all! If you don’t already know, Kara and Nate are currently traveling around Cuba! They don’t have access to internet there, so they scheduled these videos to post ahead of time. This is Kara’s sister, Kassie. 🙂
I’m here to read your comments and answer any questions until they return! Feel free to comment as usual, and I’ll do my best to respond to what I can, then K & N will do the rest when they get back on Jan. 9th!

Hate how you guys pride yourself on being greedy by purposefully leaving the middle seat empty. I hope someone books that seat next time

Santo-Domingo is the place where has begun this new world in wich one we actualy live. I know in Santo-Domingo DR you have the oldest hospital, university and cathedral in this new world.

I did that same flight back in November, the gate agent gave me an entire row to myself. It was life changing, slept better than on United or delta's business class seats.

I feel like it’s just me, I have no interest in traveling to Asia. I mean Japan, China and South Korea are gorgeous I just feel more connected with Europe? Idk why.

Oops. I've been so engrossed watching your videos from day one, I forgot to check for new videos.

USA is probably the only country in the world where there is no concept of "international transit" .. even if you have a connecting flight and boarding passes to your next destination and your bags are checked through, you have to clear the immigration, collect your bags, pass through customs and then bag drop for the next flight. There is no automatic transfer.

You should travel to Norway, you may think it's much like the swedish culture and nature, but it's TOTALLY different. Love the videos!!!

It really is torture to me that you don't show your vacation you just show the travel is there something that I missing here? Is the actual vacation stay on another Channel

Wow 14 hours on a plane in economy… that’s rough! Too bad you couldn’t get a business flight for that one eh

Fantastic videos! I can't wait to try one of the 1st class lounges. Thank you for sharing all your incredible experiences. My favorite is your Everest Bast Camp series!

y’all wanna hear a sad story? k. my grandma has saved up her whole life to travel the world. she’s gone to france, italy, sweden, brazil, madrid, and other places around the world. she got tickets to go on a safari in africa this spring. a few days ago, she was taking gardening tools out to her backyard, fell off her porch, and broke her ankle. she’s still going on her safari, but has to do it on crutches😂😭

HA! that is how I discovered your videos last year when I made plans to go to Taiwan. I flew on Eva Air and they really do feed you a lot and had complimentary wine. I did have a tv on my plane but I slept a lot. I also went in February and got to experience the Lunar new year. I flew from NY, so funny that you guys were going there next in this episode. So happy I found your channel; I've been following since.

The DR airport has changed significantly since we were there in 1983. We had a farm tractor pull our luggage up to an open garage type door, where they opened and searched each suitcase. We then were sent outside in a area roped off with military dressed men holding huge guns on the perimeter. This is where we waited for our transportation tho Jack Tar village. We ended up on an old windowless school bus that we thought we would have to get out and push.

Aye, the better known beef noodle place on that street is the one across from where you guys went. You can’t tell from the outside what it sells but that’s definitely the one to go on that street.
