We’re beyond happy we came to Mexico City – this place is amazing! In saying that, Mexico City is huge and this video and our experience so far is purely based in Roma Norte & La Condesa alone… but it makes sense now why so many people said not to miss this place while we travel in Mexico.

Mexico City has different reports online about the amount of people, but its in the 20 million range, so theres a ridiculous amount of neighbourhoods and less safe areas. We’re staying in Roma Norte after doing a lot of research, La Condesa was the other potential option, but we knew we wanted to explore both.

Today we took a free walking tour that luckily explores both Roma Norte and Condesa — 2 incredibly cool and surprising neighbourhoods that feel very safe. We’ll be sharing a video soon taking about safety in Mexico and how we felt, along with answering a bunch of other questions.

The most surprising thing I've learned about Mexico is the Asian contribution to their culture and genetics. In the 1500s and 1600s, the annual Spanish treasure fleet sailed from Manilla to Acapulco and brought spices, dyes and musical instruments that to many today seem indigenous to Mexico. Then, in the 1800s, many Chinese laborers were hired to build the railroads and their DNA is present in the Mexican population along the Pacific coast.

Where the hell did you read that you shouldn't walk around Mexico with a camera?? I am subscribed to literally dozens of youtubers who video in Mexico City everyday. Yeah, there are bad and seedy neighborhoods in Mexico City just as there are in absolutely every city in the world…absolutely ludicrous.
