Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the #travel bug! We started “travel hacking” & finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this #travelvlog to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling! So we extended our 1 year trip to now FOUR years 🙂 Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before 2020! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. 🙂

  1. I think...

People are getting so mad in the United States that some supermarkets don’t have plastic bags anymore to put your groceries. The two of you eat a lot of hummus. So you guys should make a show on the best places you ate hummus in the entire Arabic world. You should have a top 10.

The thing to do on Shabbat when a tourist in TLV if you are not religious (or go in the afternoon if you are) is to take a stroll along the Hayarkon (by the beach). That is where it's at–loads of people of all ages gathered together for Israeli dancing and other unusual, amusing attractions to see (like the beachside outdoor public gyms). A tradition in TLV for years and fun to watch! Sorry they missed it!

There used to be a thing in the US South called 'Blue laws'. Where you couldn't buy certain things, or shop at certain stores on what was usually Sunday. You could buy groceries, but you couldn't buy durable items. Your parents could probably explain those days to you.

Hello Kara and Nate! I came across this and another video of you guys in Israel. The scene in this clip where Kara was getting fresh juice made at 2:342:36. Do you have a full unedited video of that or is that footage lost? I wanted to see what they all blended together! I like watching videos like that and I’m Vegan 🌱 too! 😁 I saw in one video on YouTube of a guy taking a journey through Tel Aviv to try out different Vegan restaurants.

you could had take from central bus station of Tel Aviv (which was 10 minutes walk from your Airbnb a shuttle taxi service to Jerusalem. you need to wait until it fills up with10 people in and then the drivers takes off. usually it takes between 5 min to 20 min to fill it up. then you wouldn't had to wait for the evening in Tel Aviv and you could spend more time in Jerusalem. a cost of a drive like this to one person is 33 shekels which is 8 to 9 dollars. I never take a special taxi in between cities. its a waste of money. shuttle taxi service is much cheaper. but realy much cheaper. you pay 10% of the price of regular taxi. the only thing you don't benefit from is that they take and drop you on their fixed take and drop stations.
